A Step Above the Rest.
When designing this simple tri-fold brochure, there were three objectives.
- Provide a rich but down-home aesthetic. The rich-blue, textured fabric, vintage photo frames, script font, and stock image of the lounging dog across the top of the inside panel accomplish this objective.
- Use several photographs from the practice for personal connection. All three photos on the outside panel were provided by the practice—one of a veterinary technician with a dog, the veterinarian and his daughter, and the practice mascot.
- Highlight that the practice serves local animal-rescue shelters since many competitors in the region do not. The tag on the inside panel sets this message apart with additional visual interest that draws the reader to notice this differentiating feature of the practice.
In addition, I recreated the practice logo from a badly pixelated jpg image into a vector image and added the second layer of grass to make the cut-out effect possible.
The client loved the result and did not ask for a single change.
